Now it was the turn of the hands to climb up. The head told the hands “See, if I had not told the legs to run, we would never have reached here. Now climb up the tree!!!”. The hands did not want to listen to this anymore. They refused to climb up the tree. The eyes also joined the hands in not looking out for the lion that was chasing them. Very soon, the lion caught up with Swashasan and was about to kill him. Just at that moment, Sahakar threw down a rope from his bag and pulled Swashasan up. The lion waited for a long time and roared and roared and finally gave up and went away. Sahakar and Swashasan came down and reached the exhibition safely.
Swashasan felt that if his hands, legs, eyes and head had worked together instead of fighting amongst themselves, then his life would not have been in danger. He thanked Sahakar and from that day onwards all his hands, legs and head worked together in cooperation.
Think and Answer:
1. What do Sahakar and Swashasan mean?
2. How did the body parts of Sahakar act different from Swashasan? 3. Why did Swashasan reach the tree late?
4. What did you learn from the story?
