P. 53
Once upon a time in a village there were four boys. One of them was Sanjay. They decided to go to the jungle to get some fruits. There they saw a big guava tree. They collected lots of guavas in their
bag. Everyone ate a lot of sweet guavas. They started to return to their village.
On returning they found some villagers who were hungry. Three boys shared their guavas from their bags. They almost emptied it. Sanjay did not do it. He held on tightly to his bag. When they reached their village, monkeys started chasing the boys. The three boys had their bags lighter as they already gave some to villagers. They ran away faster. Sanjay, whose bag was full, could not run fast. The monkeys came very near to him. He got afraid and left the bag on the ground. The bag fell open and all the guavas were spread on the road. Monkeys came and ate them all. Poor boy, now he did not have even a single guava. Had he shared, he would have had at least some.
Think and Answer:
1. Why did the boys go to the jungle?
2. After eating guavas, what did the boys do?
3. Who did not share the guavas with the villagers?
4. What happened to Sanjay because he did not share his guavas? 5. So, do you think sharing is good?
