Dolby was a cute whale that was swimming happily in the ocean
1 with her parents. They were coming to the southern coast of
Alaska from the Arctic Ocean. It was very cold and the ocean water had started to freeze and become ice. After swimming for some time, the ocean became like a river. There was ice everywhere and the ocean water was flowing like a river in between the ice.
Dolby’s parents asked her to swim along with them otherwise she might be left behind. But Dolby wanted to have some fun. She would swim slowly and then suddenly swim fast to catch-up with her parents. It so happened that after some time, Dolby was left far behind. She could not see her parents. She started to swim faster and faster. She still could not see her parents. Then she found that she was not able to swim fast. The water was becoming ice. After some time, she could not swim ahead as the water in front of her had frozen. She was now stuck in a small pond of water surrounded2 by ice everywhere. She did not know what to do. She started crying loudly. Her parents were worried and they came back to see where Dolby was. But her parents could not come near her as there was ice around her. After sometime, few people came near the ice. They saw Dolby struggling3. They wanted to help her. They tried to break the ice with their hammers so that Dolby could go back to her parents. But even after a long time, they were not able to break the ice. They went back. Dolby was very sad. She felt that she will not be able to catch-up with her parents.
After sometime, the men came back with a big ship that had a crane. They started to break the ice with the crane. The crane was able to break the ice quickly. After some time, Dolby was free. She could swim to her parents. Her parents were happy that the men had come to help. Dolby started to wave and dance in the water again. The men were also very happy that they could save Dolby.
