Long Long ago, in the forests of Nilgiri mountains, lived a herd of elephants peacefully. Their king, Gajraj, was very
brave and wise.
One day, a group of elephant- hunters came and trapped the king in a deep ditch. Elephants of the herd tried various ways to pull the king out of the ditch
but all efforts went in vain1.
Finally, Gajraj thought of a plan and summoned2 his group to come close and listen to him. Gajraj started by saying,” Don’t panic. If we all work as a team and follow the plan, I will be out in no time.” Everybody raised
their trunks in unison3.
Gajraj said, “Go and get water in your trunks from the nearby lake and pour it in the ditch. After a while it will turn into a pool full of water and then I
will be able to swim out of it.”
