She saw this, repented for being greedy and thought,
Wife: “Dear me! Even these poor sesame grains are made unfit to eat. I should not have been shrewish. Now how can I feed a Brahman and keep up the promise”?
Meanwhile, a neighbour who needed Shandili’s help came to her house and saw what had happened.
Neighbour: “Dear Shandili, do not worry for what happened. I am expecting a lot of guests today. I came here to ask for your help. I can give you some grains after the work is done”.
Wife: “God has been kind to me today. I thank you for helping me in need. I will gladly assist you at work”.
Mother Shandili helped her neighbour and received the grains. She thought,
Wife: “Each deed from every time and place pays back in the exact same way. The dog ate the grains for I was greedy. I got the grains for I helped a friend in need. God helps those who seek His help. Now I can feed a Brahman as my husband wished”.
Moral: Every deed, good or bad, is always paid back in the same way.
