He whispered slowly, “O King, I know what has brought you here. The sweet mango we get on this tree is a fruit which even you would like to have. But for that you will drive us away from our home, as the mango tree is in our land. Please do not do so. Let us live on our island. We can share the sweet mangoes with each other. If you can do anything, please do this. Let the sweet mangoes and the tree be shared but don’t drive my monkeys away.”
The king was moved by the courageous monkey king. He told the monkey king, “O Great Monkey King, your request shall be fulfilled. We will not drive the monkeys away, but will let the monkeys live here only. We thank you for offering to share the mangoes, but we will let your monkeys live in peace.”
Saying this, the King ordered his men to go back and never to come back near the tree. The monkey king recovered after a few days and the monkeys lived happily on the tree ever after.
