Page 35 - Moral Stories Vol 5
P. 35
We are all equal in the sense that we come from the same source, the same One God and we are all His expression. In outward sense, we are not equal. Each one of us is unique. We look different, we have different needs. Inwardly, we are all equal. We are treated equally by Nature, by the One God just like a mother who takes care of her children with equality.
Amongst the five Pandavas, Bheema was the tallest and strongest. He needed more food. Kunti, their mother, used to give more than half of the food to Bheema alone. The remaining food was shared with others. Is this inequality? No. Kunti, being a mother, was actually treating all as equal. Everyone was treated based on their fair needs and right. So we can say that treating others according to their fair need and right is True Equality.
Think and Answer:
1. How are we all equal?
2. How much food did Bheema get? How much did the rest of four Pandavas get?
3. If Kunti had given everyone the same amount of food, what would happen to each Pandava? Would each Pandava be full?
4. Who treats us equally? Does this mean we each get the same amount of wealth or health?
