Kaku, the crow, lived in Sundervan. He was not happy with the way he looked and sounded. He wasn’t happy with the color of his feathers either.
Once Kaku saw Hamsa, the swan swimming in a pond. Hamsa had
white and beautiful feathers. Kaku
was very pleased to see the sparkling
white colour. Kaku asked Hamsa, “You
look very beautiful. Will you tell me the secret of your beauty?”
“Why not!”, Hamsa replied. “The secret of my beauty lies in my dwelling1 - swimming in the water all the time.”
