Hearing this Kaku asked Hamsa, “If I stay in the water like you, will I also become white like you?”
“Sure, you will”, Hamsa replied. Hearing these words Kaku jumped into the pond and waited. Hours passed but he still waited hoping that he would turn white. He then asked Hamsa “Why am I not becoming white?”
Hamsa replied, “Try your luck tomorrow.” When Kaku tried to fly he could not fly as his wings had become very heavy and he was feeling terribly weak. He pleaded
with Hamsa to help him get out and be free in the air like before. Then Hamsa helped him to get out of the pond and made him understand the value of one’s true habitat2 and being happy with where one is. Kaku learnt his lesson and flew back
to his nest.
