Shweta and her brother Saketh lived with their father and mother in a nice small house. Shweta’s father Ram worked in a software company. Every day in the morning, after taking bath, Ram used to perform his prayer. After the prayer was done, Ram woke up
Shweta. Ram used to get Shweta ready every morning and drop her at her school.
It was usual for Shweta every morning to plead with her father to let her sleep for some more time, she used to say, “I am still sleepy, father. Let me sleep for a while”. She would never get up on time. Ram finally used to wake up Shweta by singing the following rhyme
Lazy Shweta, will you get up, will you get up
Lazy Shweta, will you get up, will you get up today?
No, No father, I won’t get up, I won’t get up
No, No father, I won’t get up, I won’t get up today
My dear Shweta, you must get up, you must get up
My dear Shweta, you must get up, you must get up today Ok, father, I will get up, I will get up
Ok, father, I will get up, I will get up today
One day Shweta had to get ready quicker than usual. They were taking a photo of her class that day and she had to be there on time. Shweta really wanted to take a picture with all her class friends. Ram and Shweta’s mother Lalita were trying their best to get her ready for school. But Shweta was in no mood to listen. She wanted to play with her toys instead of brushing her teeth. Ram said, “ Shweta, please brush your teeth quickly”.
Now it was the time to have breakfast. Again, she did not listen and complained “This dosa is not good. I want Parata.” Shweta’s mother Lalita told her nicely “You will be late for your school picture. Please eat the dosa. I will make Parata tomorrow”. But Shweta was adamant2 and did not eat. Finally, her mother gave her some milk.
