P. 5
Once upon a time, two acquaintances decided to go on a long trip by train across the country. The trip would take them three days and three nights. The two men decide to share a room. Now it so happened, that one of these men was a very rich man and the other was a thief. When the thief entered the room the rich man was counting his money. The thief thought this was his lucky day. He then went to wash up and when he got back he found that the rich man was fast asleep.
The thief started looking for the money everywhere in the room but he could not find the money. The next morning when the thief woke up, he again saw the rich man counting his money. The thief thought probably he did not search for the money properly. So he went through the room with a fine-toothed comb. Again to his utter dismay, he could not find it. The thief was getting more and more exhausted as he searched harder and harder. By the time the third morning rolled around, the thief was so exhausted and so frustrated that he blurted out: “Where do you keep your money!” The rich man replied, “Under your pillow”.
Moral: 1. Do not covet other’s possessions. 2. Do not search for a thing elsewhere
when it is in your own backyard.
