Once there was a man. He had two sons who were twins. One boy’s name was Mukesh and the other’s name was Suresh. Since they were twins, their birthday happens to be on the same day. Both were
guessing what their father will give them on their birthday.
Mukesh was a cheerful boy and was always happy. He respected his parents and teachers. In school, he used to play with his friends as if they were his own brothers and sisters. He prayed every night, as his mother told him to do. Suresh was a good boy too. But he loved playing only with himself and not anybody else. Suresh used to play alone in the school and used to speak only with the teacher and Mukesh. He never liked to share anything with anyone. He also used to get angry at his parents, whenever he did not like something.
On their birthday, they were eagerly waiting for their father to come back home. When their father came back home, he told them. “I know that you both want something for your birthday. This time we will do something different. I will give you something that you can share with many people. Once you tell me what you can do with the gift, we will then go to the fair and enjoy your birthday.”
Mukesh and Suresh agreed. They were wondering what they would get. Then father opened a small bag which had two apples. He told them that those were magical apples and said, “Take these and now tell me how you will share it with others.”
Mukesh started to think but Suresh became angry as usual. Without thinking, he said, “Father, you gave me only one apple. It is not enough even for myself. Yet you are asking me to share this with others. How am I going to do that?” His father said, “Remember, these are magical apples.” Suresh was still upset. He just ate the apple by himself and threw the seeds in their backyard.
